To Atlanta resident Summer Thompson ’19, Syracuse University was always a dream school. “I want to be in the public relations/communications field and aspire to have my own events firm specializing in sports and entertainment. The Newhouse School is the best and I wanted to be a part of it,” Thompson says.
- Dulce Gallo-Blanco ’17 was 11 years old when she moved with her family from a small coastal town near Acapulco, Mexico, to the United States, settling in Atlanta. She spoke no English, but learned quickly—by the time she graduated high school, she was class valedictorian.
For many students, college is about expanding horizons, thinking independently, and overcoming adversity. But Abigail Grant ’18 is one of those special students who gained these experiences at a much younger age.
