Atlanta students are pursuing their dreams at SU!
Syracuse University is home to 13,000 undergraduate students from all 50 states and more than 120 countries. More than 100 SU students hail from Atlanta alone! Click on their names below to meet some of them.
Mignon Farnet ’16 is an accounting and supply chain management major, one of SU’s first Posse Scholars, and was named Freshman of the Year last fall by the Whitman School of Management.
Elmer Moreno ’16, a mechanical engineering major, was chosen as one of 1,000 preliminary applicants from the Atlanta region to be considered for the Posse Scholarship Program. Founded in 1989, Posse identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential who may be overlooked by traditional college selection processes. Moreno fit that bill to a tee.
- Dulce Gallo-Blanco ’17 was 11 years old when she moved with her family from a small coastal town near Acapulco, Mexico, to the United States, settling in Atlanta. She spoke no English, but learned quickly—by the time she graduated high school, she was class valedictorian.
